Environmental Considerations
Old or historic buildings often have a huge amount of character and charm, but they were not built at a time when energy efficiency, carbon emissions, electricity costs and heat loss to name but a few, were a major consideration.Existing urban housing stock generally offers far greater square footage than new-builds. It is the challenge for 21st Century re-Developers to strike a balance between retaining and recycling where possible in order to minimise landfill and the cost to the environment caused by industrial production and improving energy efficiency to create a sustainable home. Eaves Developments welcomes this challenge, we work closely with architects, local authority planning departments and new technology providers to achieve a ‘best fit’ for the home owner, the local community, the budget and the environment.
We invest in research and design in an effort to retain the
architectural integrity of the original design, harmonious and
consistent with its neighbours while offering the best
available environmental technology for future owners
long term comfort and well-being.
We are also very excited about the prospect of
installing our first solar panels into existing properties,
which will open up a host of opportunities, not only in
terms of saving money spent on fuel for the owner, but
also the possibility of becoming a home energy
generator, earning money for the electricity they
produce from a renewable energy company like
Good Energy.
